Oh boy, are you asking the wrong person. Actually, perhaps, you are asking the right person because I recognise this issue and have done pretty much since my school days. I tell you, it’s a real problem in others.
You probably know the feeling. You are about a third of the way through a meeting, some loudmouth is intervening for the fifth time and, suddenly, you realise it is you. Perhaps people are shifting in their chairs or an audible sigh has gone up. Maybe you are still very happy with yourself, but you have just enough self-awareness to recognise that, in the football vernacular, while you may have dominated possession, you do not appear to be scoring.
Quality can mitigate this issue but, at some point, quantity does become the defining metric.
