Congressional Democrats vowed on Sunday to expand their investigation into President Donald Trump’s connections to Russia even as they awaited the conclusions of the 22-month probe completed by special counsel Robert Mueller.
Jerry Nadler, chair of the House judiciary committee, said lawmakers would pick up the investigation where Mr Mueller left off. He added that Democrats were prepared to take their fight to the Supreme Court if the justice department refused to provide them access to the entire Mueller report.
“The job of Congress is much broader than the job of special counsel,” Mr Nadler told CNN on Sunday.
