The head of L’Oréal, the world’s biggest beauty company, has said that its Chinese business is booming, bucking a wider economic slowdown as brands like Lanc?me and Maybelline win over consumers.
“We’ve doubled the size of our business in China over the past four years, and the beauty market there is still very dynamic, especially the luxury segment,” said Jean-Paul Agon, chief executive, in an interview in London.
“I know there are other industries and other categories of products where there has been a slowdown, but honestly in our market, we are not seeing anything like that.”
