The chief prosecutor in the case of Gu Kailai — the wife of Chinese leader Bo Xilai convicted of murdering a British businessman — has been found dead, according to Chinese state media reports.
Man Mingan, 60, was appointed in 2012 to prosecute Gu in the most sensational court case in China since the trial of the Gang of Four, led by Mao Zedong’s widow Madame Mao, in the 1980s.
Police received a tip-off early on Tuesday and discovered Man hanging in his flat in Hefei City in China’s central Anhui Province, according to official reports.
